Version: 4.8.0
Released to UAT: June 18, 2026
Released to Production: June 25, 2026
Release Overview
This release strengthens document fraud detection, upgrades our liveness and capture technology, and expands global language coverage. Highlights include new authoritative DMV cross-checks and forensic barcode analysis for U.S. driver's licenses and state IDs in Proof, an upgraded selfie and document injection attack detection (IAD) pipeline (version 2.6.0), refinements to multi-frame IAD that smooth the Android capture experience, and added support for the Yoruba language. The release also includes a range of stability and device-compatibility fixes across Proof, Verified with Privacy Key, and Identity Portal.
What's New
Security and Fraud Mitigation
This release adds two new identity-assurance signals to the Proof document verification flow for U.S. driver's licenses and state IDs, giving you stronger detection of fraudulent or manipulated documents. Both are tenant-configurable and require no additional integration work beyond enabling the feature.
- DMV Match - The document's PDF417 barcode is validated against authoritative DMV records to detect fraudulent or manipulated U.S. driver's licenses and state IDs, going beyond purely visual or OCR-based document analysis.
- Barcode Detective - The PDF417 barcode is forensically analyzed for signs of tampering or counterfeiting, adding a forensic layer to document authentication.
Each signal returns a Pass, Fail, or Not Performed result. Passports and other documents not issued by a DMV are not supported.
Injection Attack Detection (Capture Liveness)
- Selfie and Document IAD upgraded - Both the selfie and document injection attack detection (IAD) engines have been upgraded to version 2.6.0. The new release delivers an improved IAD pipeline with lower false rejection and false acceptance rates.
- Improved multi-frame capture experience on Android - We've refined how multi-frame IAD runs during selfie capture. An issue that caused capture to slow down or stall on Android Chrome has been resolved, significantly smoothing the Privacy Key capture experience on Android. Combined with the 2.6.0 upgrade, this also reduces the Bona Fide Presentation Classification Error Rate (BPCER) - fewer legitimate users are incorrectly rejected during capture.
Language Support
- Yoruba - BioWeb can now be displayed in Yoruba (language code
yo), expanding coverage across West Africa (Nigeria). The language can be selected from the in-product language selector or set with the&lng=yoURL parameter.
Identity Portal
Workflow Progress Accuracy - We've corrected several behaviors in the Workflow Progress view so that capture attempts, success and failure states, and failure reasons are recorded and displayed accurately during troubleshooting.
Bug Fixes
This release also includes a number of stability improvements, device-compatibility fixes (including camera-availability issues on macOS and several iOS and Android devices), performance optimizations, and bug fixes across Proof, Verified with Privacy Key, and Identity Portal based on customer feedback and internal testing.
