What's New

Digital ID Integration (BETA)

We're introducing BETA support for electronic IDs (eIDs) and mobile Driver's Licenses (mDLs) in the Proof identity verification flow. Proof now supports digital IDs conforming to ISO/IEC 18013-5 and ISO/IEC 18013-7, so end users can verify their identity with either a physical government-issued ID or a compatible digital ID stored in a supported mobile wallet.

  • Dual capture options - The verification widget presents both Physical ID and Digital ID paths, configurable per tenant.
  • Provider flexibility - Administrators can configure which digital ID providers and supported regions are presented to end users based on location or use case.
  • Seamless fallback - Users can switch between physical and digital ID mid-flow if their initial choice is unavailable.
  • Selfie + liveness - After digital ID verification, users complete the standard selfie capture with liveness detection for biometric comparison.

Aadhaar QR Code Scanning

Proof now reads and verifies Aadhaar cards through the embedded secure QR code, enabling trusted identity verification for India-issued IDs. Supported formats include physical Aadhaar cards, Aadhaar letters, printed e-Aadhaar, and PVC Aadhaar cards.

  • Secure QR code reading - Extracts and parses the digitally signed QR code payload from the Aadhaar card image.
  • Digital signature validation - Verifies the UIDAI digital signature in the Aadhaar QR code and returns the signature validity as a machine-readable attribute.
  • Biometric binding - When the QR code contains biometric reference data, Proof compares the digitally signed reference photo from the QR code against a live selfie to confirm the person presenting the ID is its legitimate holder.

Biometric Age Estimation

  • Proof now includes selfie-based age estimation that produces an estimated age mid-point and returns it as the BiometricAgeEstimate attribute in the verification results.
  • This supports policy-driven decisioning for use cases such as underage access control, fraud-based step-ups, and anomaly detection where the estimated age is inconsistent with the age derived from the identity document.
