What's New - Verified 4.7.2 Release (Hot fix)
Version: 4.7.2
Released to UAT: May 21, 2026
Released to Production: May 28, 2026
Release Overview
This release delivers enhancements across security, authentication, adjudication, and user experience. Highlights include new policies to strengthen fraud mitigation, expanded Privacy Key and authentication capabilities, and improved accuracy from our latest Facial Matcher. Identity Portal gains deeper transaction visibility for faster troubleshooting and adjudication, and BioWeb debuts a refreshed user interface along with new options for end-user privacy.
What's New
Security and Fraud Mitigation
This release introduces two new optional policies that give you greater control over where a transaction can be completed. Both apply to authentication and identity verification flows and are off by default.
- Single-Device Lockdown Mode - Restricts a transaction to the device on which it was initiated, providing strong protection against relay attacks and session-forwarding threats by blocking any attempt to continue on a second device.
- SkipHandoff - Removes the "continue on another device" experience from the UI entirely, including on camera-failure fallback screens, so users are never offered an alternate-device path.
Privacy Key and Authentication
- Privacy Key QR Code Generation - Privacy Key can now generate a signed QR code that links a user's biometric credential to a physical credential, such as a mobile device, printed badge, or secure wallet. The QR code carries the user's Privacy Key public key along with external identifiers and metadata (e.g., employee ID), and can be scanned at access points to trigger a live biometric authentication event. Codes are time-bound, revocable, and scoped to specific access domains.
- Standalone 1:1 Biometric Matching Endpoint - A new dedicated API endpoint that performs biometric matching using the secondary Biometric Matcher, designed for secondary reviews and out-of-band verification scenarios.
- Asynchronous Processing for Privacy Key (AsyncSubmit) - This optional feature allows Privacy Key transactions to be submitted asynchronously, reducing perceived latency at the end of capture.
- Inline Template Upgrade - In our last release (4.7.0), we upgraded our Facial Matcher and Template Generator neural networks to new versions. Since then, we've observed an increase in False Non-Match Rate (FNMR) for Verified reference templates generated with the previous model, particularly for enrollments captured under suboptimal conditions (poor lighting, excessive glare, or significant occlusion). To address this, Verified reference templates are now automatically refreshed with our latest models inline during an authentication event, with no separate re-enrollment required.
- Match Score Added to Decision Node - The biometric match score is now visible directly within the decision signal matrix, making it easier to consume Proof results.
Identity Portal
Workflow Progress Enhancements - We're releasing several improvements to the Workflow Progress view in Identity Portal that make troubleshooting and adjudication faster and more precise, giving you more granular visibility into the transaction workflow. Events are now organized by capture attempt, making it easier to triage what happened in each retry, and additional context from transaction initialization and device and environment setup is surfaced at the start of every transaction. Selfie status checks now capture enriched signal data throughout the workflow for use during adjudication.
BioWeb
New BioWeb UI - We're excited to introduce a refreshed user interface for BioWeb across both Proof and Verified with Privacy Key flows, featuring updated components, icons, and a new style guide for a more polished and intuitive end-user experience.
Most notably, the new UI introduces an optional feature we're calling Privacy Mode: a new selfie capture experience for Privacy Key that applies a face mesh overlay to the user during capture. The mesh obscures the live video feed so users cannot see themselves on screen, providing a stronger sense of privacy during biometric capture while preserving the integrity of the capture itself.
The new UI is off by default and can be enabled by your account manager. Existing flows and screen order remain unchanged, so no integration changes are required.
Bug Fixes
This release also includes a number of stability improvements, performance optimizations, and bug fixes across Proof, Verified with Privacy Key, and Identity Portal based on customer feedback and internal testing.
