Operator-assisted Biometric Credential Capture

Most scenarios in the authID platform focus on a self-service end-user experience. This is evident in our documentation, where we refer to facial biometric capture as "Selfie Capture," which is integral to Proof IDV and Verified enrollment/authentication scenarios.

However, there are instances where these processes can be facilitated by an operator rather than relying solely on the end user. Examples include:

  • In-branch Proof IDV: An operator captures the document and obtains a live image of the document owner.
  • Employee Onboarding: Biometric credential enrollment is performed by a supervisor.

Integrators can implement operator-assisted capture by specifying the environment-facing mobile camera used for biometric credential capture when embedding authID UI within Proof, Verified, or Biometric Search scenarios.

To select the environment-facing camera, modify the session workflow using the URL parameter &agentModeSelfie. Additionally, using the &confirmSelfie parameter is recommended, allowing the operator to review the capture before proceeding.

For further details, please refer to the Session URL Parameters section of the documentation.
